| As the mother of a fifteen-year-old young man, Max, Kim Zimmer has had thoughts of our current war against terrorism more often than she'd like. "It's tough having a teenage boy," she claims. "When you listen to [reporters] talking about this being long and drawn out, you have this fear that your children will see it...That maybe they'll reinstitute the draft." When the events of Sept. 11 occurred, Zimmer says that the aftermath wasn't felt as hard by her 12 year-old, Jake, as it was Max. "Jake, I think, was just thrilled to be getting out of school. Max's school sits up on a hill that you can see the city skyline from. They were out there on the lawn watching the whole thing happening before their very eyes. It was a little freaky." With a heavy sigh, the actress concludes, "I'm sure that they're scared to death. But they are tough little kids, and they're continuing their lives. They have to." |
