| Kim recently came between her GL boss, Paul Rauch and his wife, Israela Margalit. No, not that way. Rauch and the missus had a tug-of-war over Zimmer when Margalit wanted to cast the GL star in her new play, "3 O'Clock in Brooklyn". "For the first reading of the play," Margalit relates, "I asked a lot of people from Guiding Light to do it, because I wanted to see if it was funny. So, I did it among friends. Kim played the role [Bridget], and she was perfect. I asked Paul, 'Can I have her?' and he said, 'Absolutely not. She's in a major story, and she won't have the time. It's going to be a big problem.' " But Margalit didn't back down. Later on, "when I asked him again, he asked me the dates," she recalls. "He said, 'She's just finishing a big story (Reva's trial), so she won't be on the show everyday.' She wanted to do it, so..." The dispute was settled. The play, set in a coffee shop, focuses on a group of caffeine-addicted characters in search of love. Are any of the characters autobiographical? "Absolutely not," scoffs Margalit. "There's maybe one line in the play that reminds me of Paul." As for working with her husband on a future project, Margalit says she'd love to. But don't expect to see her name in GL's credits. "I could never work on his show because...it's just not a good idea," she laughs. "Not to mention, Proctor & Gamble has this nepotism clause." |
